The two guitars sound pretty much the same except the Elitist has a little less mush in the neck pickup. I changed out only the bridge to a TonePros bridge to get rid of the bailing wire rattle. Stayed with the original PU's, pots, and bridge. I changed out the PU covers to creme plastic, and replaced the tuners with Gibson style tulip tuners. Unfortunately, neither the GC nor the other guitar stores in my area have an elitist Casino on the wall, otherwise I'd just look for myself. Again, just wondering what I'm missing out on with an elitist. The neck joint is seamless and tight, the binding is clean, everything seems great. The electronics often go on the fritz, and I've lost signal to my bridge pickup on several occasions. The nut was not filed properly, leaving inconsistent spacing on the strings, the tuners were cheap, and the screws holding the tuners to the headstock were loose. As much as I love my guitar, it has major flaws. When you say that the Elitist is a better build, do you mean the body/neck, or the hardware/electronics. Of the many guitars hanging on the wall in my man-cave, it's the one my wife, while upstairs, can pick out when I've got it plugged in, and she swears it is by far her favorite, as well. Yep, Kingfish, I've had it for a while, and even stock, the P90's sound incredible.
